RNC Make Arrest After Break And Enter

(St. John’s. NL), January 19, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services Division have arrested two men after a break and enter.

This morning, at approximately 4:30 am, officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Police Dog Service and Forensic Identification Section responded to a commercial alarm at a bank in the East end of St. John’s. When officers arrived, it was confirmed that a break and enter had occurred using heavy equipment.

In follow up to the break and enter, Operational Patrol Services Division initiated a traffic stop on the Trans Canada Highway, subsequently arresting two men in connection with the break and enter in the East end of St. John’s.

A 40 year old man was arrested and charged with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, public mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and other firearms offences. A 41 year old man was arrested and charged with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime and other firearms offences. Both men have been held to appear in Provincial Court today.
