RNC Make Arrest After Drug Investigation

(St. John’s. NL), January 28, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigative Unit has charged a man in connection with an investigation at a downtown residence in St. John’s.

On Friday, January 25, 2019, investigators with the RNC’s Drug Investigative Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant at the residence on Pleasant Street in St. John’s. Investigators seized cocaine, marihuana, a sawed off shotgun, ammunition, an operable Taser, brass knuckles, a collapsible baton, bear spray, approximately $8000 in prescription pills and cash. Charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and related firearms and weapons offences have been laid.

The Drug Investigative Unit, with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Operational Patrol Services, arrested 57 year old Sherlock Patey at the Pleasant Street address. Other CDSA charges are anticipated.
