RNC Make Arrest After Drug Investigation

(St. John’s. NL), February 19, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigative Unit has arrested a man in connection with an investigation at a center-city residence in St. John’s.

On Friday, February 15, 2019, at approximately 3:00 pm, the RNC’s Drug Investigative Unit, assisted by the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Operational Patrol Services Division executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant at a residence on Empire Avenue in St. John’s. Investigators seized prescription pills and cash, valued at approximately $7000.00.

As a result of this search, Thirty- two year old Nicholas Gardias was arrested at the scene and charged with breaches of court order. He was held for a bail hearing. The Drug Investigative Unit’s investigation is ongoing.
