RNC Conclude Multiple Investigations Following Arrest

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), December 18, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC), Labrador West Detachment were able to conclude multiple investigations after the arrest of a man in Labrador.

On December 13, 2019, members of RNC Operation Patrol Services (OPS) in Labrador West received a report that a man had gained access to private property. Following an investigation, a 28 year old man and a 31 year old woman were arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house.

Subsequent to this arrest, officers followed up on information connected to an incident which occurred on November 22nd involving a break and enter and an assault, as well as a break and enter at a local restaurant which occurred on November 26th, and an incident of fraud on December 1st. As a result, investigators have charged the 28 year old man in connection with each of these investigations, in addition to court order breaches related to the offences. The 28 year old man was held to appear in provincial court. He has since plead guilty to the offences and is awaiting a sentence hearing.
