RNC Operation Rapture Leads to Seizure and Arrest

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), February 7, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigation Unit (DIU), with the assistance of postal inspectors, have seized cocaine and made an arrest in connection with Operation Rapture.

On Wednesday, February 5, 2020, the RNC DIU seized four kilograms of cocaine. Subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of a 49 year old male resident of Paradise in connection with the seizure.

The 49 year old man has been charged with possession of controlled drugs and substances for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in controlled drugs and substances. The man has been released on conditions to appear in court on April 14, 2020.
