COVID-19 – RNC Community Update

Effective immediately, to further assist in preventing transmission of COVID-19, all Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) locations are closed for non-emergencies until further notice.

If you have an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. It is an emergency if someone’s immediate health, safety, or property is in immediate danger or there is a crime in progress.

  • If you are in danger or fear for safety, our facilities will be accessible.

Please Report non-emergent matters by phone.

Reports for the following offences can be filed by phone:

Damage/Mischief to a Motor Vehicle, Damage/Mischief to Property, Lost Property, Traffic Complaints, Theft, and Motor Vehicle Collisions.

Further direction will be provided on a case by case basis.

**If any incident is believed to be related to intimate partner violence, please inform our communication technician.

 

Fingerprinting

All non-criminal fingerprinting is also suspended until further notice.

Record Checks

The RNC is suspending Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector checks until further notice.

 

Protecting our community is our priority, and we are constantly assessing the information made available by health professionals and agencies to best prepare for preventing the spread of COVID-19. We know that by working together with our community, we can continue to build safe and healthy communities together.
