RNC Investigating Arson at Residence in Mount Pearl

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), June 29, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are investigating an arson at a residence in Mount Pearl.

On Monday, June 29, 2020, at approximately 12:30 am, members of RNC patrol services division responded to a report of a fire at a residence on Laumann Place in Mount Pearl. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed exterior damage on the front of the home. This particular residence has been subject to three such fires in the past week, which are not believed to be random incidents.

A male was seen outside the residence on Laumann Place just before the fire started at the front of the home. He is described to be a tall, slender, and around 20 years old, wearing a grey hoodie and red ball cap. The suspect reportedly fled the area, entering a gold sedan, which appeared to be full of occupants as it left the area. The investigation remains ongoing.

The RNC are seeking any witnesses and anyone with dash camera or CCTV footage in the noted area around the time of the incident.
