RNC Quickly Apprehend Suspect of Break and Enters

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), July 30, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) have arrested a man in relation to break and enters in the metro region.

Between July 26 and July 28, 2020, RNC Operational Patrol Services, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Services responded to several break and enters of local businesses in the metro region. A local supplement shop had two locations affected, along with a cannabis product retailer, and a local clothing and design shop. Each business suffered significant loss as a result.

Investigators quickly began working to identify those responsible for these attacks within our community, engaging investigative techniques and executing a search warrant.  As a result, the RNC General Investigation Unit arrested a 44-year-old man from St. John’s in the early hours of July 29, 2020, in connection with these incidents. The man is charged with four counts of break and enter, and has been held in custody to appear in provincial court.

Investigators located the property that was stolen from local businesses, which is in the process of being returned to the rightful owners.

The investigation remains active, and we ask that anyone with information that may assist contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers. Let’s continue to build safe and healthy communities together.

See the attached photos of property located by investigators in the course of the investigation.
