Snowmobiler Charged with Impaired in Labrador West

(Labrador City, NL), January 11, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) charged a snowmobiler with impaired operation in Labrador on Sunday night.

On Sunday, January 10, 2021, shortly before 10:30 pm, Operational Patrol Services observed a snowmobile travelling on Bowater Drive in Wabush. The operator of the snowmobile was not wearing a helmet, and was located a short time later at a residence in the area. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator was placed under arrest in relation to impaired operation.

The 38-year-old man from Wabush was advised that he would be charged with impaired operation and impaired operation over 80 mg, and the snowmobile was seized. The man has been released to appear in provincial court.
