RNC Road Safety Initiative Leads to Vehicle Seizures

(St. John’s, NL), April 23, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Traffic Services collaborated with RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and the provincial government Highway Enforcement Officers (HEO) in a road safety initiative on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, members of the RNC Traffic Services collaborated with RNC OPS and the provincial government HEO on a road safety initiative in the metro region, focusing on vehicle inspections, roadworthiness, documentation, and overall safety. Over the course of several hours in the Kenmount Road area, the initiative resulted in 104 summary offence tickets issued, as well as the seizure of 14 vehicles.

Officers with RNC Traffic Services are continuing their efforts to promote safe and healthy communities, and request that any traffic matters be reported to the RNC. The RNC sends its gratitude to motorists for their cooperation with our traffic initiatives, and also for ensuring the safety of our officers and community partners as they carry out their duties.
