RNC Request Assistance With Armed Robbery Investigation

(St. John’s, NL), May 12, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Conception Bay South (CBS) last week.

On Monday, May 3, 2021, at approximately 1:45 am, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Police Dog Service (PDS) responded to a service station on Conception Bay Highway near Jeffer’s Lane in CBS in relation to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred. Officers had responded to the same service station on April 24, 2021.

Responding officers were informed that a suspect had entered the store presenting a weapon, demanding cigarettes and cash. After obtaining the requested items in a reusable grocery bag, the man exited the store and fled on foot. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage.

The suspect is described to be a male, about five feet and nine inches tall with a medium build, and believed to be in his thirties in age. He wore a grey hoodie with a Campfire logo, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
