RNC Investigation Lands Man in Custody

(St. John’s, NL), August 13, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a man last night in connection with an investigation in to a disturbance which occurred Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at approximately 10:50 pm, The RNC OPS, Police Dog Service (PDS) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) responded to a report of a disturbance in a residential area of downtown St. John’s. On arrival, responding officers located a male who had sustained non-life threatening injuries. The man was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

On Thursday, August 12, 2021, as a result of the investigation in to the incident, a 37-year-old man was arrested in downtown St. John’s. He was charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of court orders. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
