RNC Investigating Property Damage in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), August 16, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to the area of Confederation Building in St. John’s in connection with damage to vehicles overnight.

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, just before 3:00 am, The RNC OPS and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) responded to a report of property damage at a parking lot between the Confederation Building and Allandale Road in St. John’s. On arrival, responding officers observed 11 vehicles with ranging amounts of damage to each vehicle. The damage consisted of broken windows, paint scratching, lights broken, as well as vehicle body and interior damage.

The property damage is believed to have occurred between midnight and prior to the report made to the RNC, shortly before 3:00 am this morning. Investigators are seeking any information related to suspicious activity in the area around the time of the offence. Officers will be seeking any video in the vicinity, as well as any dash camera footage in the area of Confederation Building.
