RNC Collaborate With Partners In Search For Hiker

(St. John’s, NL), August 20, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) collaborated with Rovers Search and rescue and Canada Coast Guard in search for hiker.

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, at approximately 7:45 pm, RNC OPS responded to a report of an injured hiker on the East Coast Trail in the area of Cape St. Francis. Members of the RNC OPS, Rovers Search and Rescue, and Canada Coast Guard collaborated in the effort to locate the hiker.

Several hours later, the search team located the hiker, at which time the search team carried the hiker to safety. The 44-year-old man was transported to a hospital by Ambulance Department for non-life threatening injuries.
