RNC Patrol Stop Impaired Driver On Pitts Memorial

(St. John’s, NL), August 20, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a woman in relation to impaired driving after a report in the area of Pitts Memorial Drive overnight.

On Friday, August 20, 2021, at approximately 1:45 am, officers with RNC OPS responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Pitts Memorial Drive, near bay Bulls Road, in St. John’s. Officers located the suspect vehicle just east of the Fowler’s Road exit, effectively conducting a traffic stop in the area.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, the 48-year-old woman from Quebec who was operating the vehicle was arrested and charged with impaired driving and impaired driving over 80mg. Her vehicle was impounded from the scene. The woman was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
