RNC Make Arrest In Connection With Assault

(St. John’s, NL), August 27, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a male overnight in St. John’s in connection with an assault.

On Thursday, August 26, 2021, at approximately 2:30 am, The RNC OPS responded to a report of a disturbance in a residential area in the center city of St. John’s. On arrival, responding officers located a female with visible injuries.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, shortly after midnight in to August 27, patrol officers arrested a 31-year-old male from St. John’s in the downtown area of the capital city. He was charged with assault and held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
