RNC Investigating Robbery at Convenience Store in Mount Pearl

(St. John’s, NL), August 30, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Mount Pearl.

On Sunday, July 25, 2021, just before 6:00 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) Police Dog Service (PDS) and Forensic identification Services (FIS) responded to a convenience store on First Street in Mount Pearl in relation to a report of a robbery which had just occurred. A lone suspect had entered the business and approached the cashier presenting a weapon, demanding cash and cigarettes. After the suspect was not successful in obtaining any items, they exited the store and fled the area on foot, travelling west on Ruth Avenue. Responding officers did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described to be a male, about five feet and two inches tall, with a slim build and brown hair. He wore a grey windbreaker jacket, dark coloured shorts, grey sneakers, and a black face mask.
