RNC Request Assistance Following Collision in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), October 1, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) accident investigators are requesting the assistance of the community following a collision in St. John’s.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at approximately 4:20 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Accident Investigation (AI) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Portugal Cove Road, near the Trans-Canada Highway on-ramp. The collision involved a motorcycle and a red Toyota SUV on the south bound lanes of Portugal Cove Road. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital from the scene to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are requesting any witnesses, or anyone with dash camera footage in the area around the time of the collision, to contact the RNC to assist the investigation.
