RNC Investigating Armed Robbery in Churchill Square

(St. John’s, NL), October 7, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Churchill Square on Monday night.

On Monday, October 4, 2021, at approximately 10:25 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS), Police Dog Services (PDS) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) responded to an establishment on the West end of Churchill Square in St. John’s. A male suspect had entered the business, approached the cashier, then presented a weapon while demanding cash. The suspect obtained some cash, exited the business, then fled in the direction of Allandale Road. Responding officers did not locate the suspect in the area.

The suspect is described to be a male of over six feet tall with a slender build. His hair was described to come down to his eye level, and was dark in colour. He was wearing a dark puffy winter coat with a hood, a black neck covering mask, and black gloves. He was also noted to be walking with a limp.
