RNC Suspend Driver Following Traffic Stop

(St. John’s, NL), November 10, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) suspended driving privileges and impounded a vehicle following a traffic stop in Mount Pearl.

On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at approximately 12:50 am, RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle operating in the area of Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 75-year-old male from Mount Pearl was found to be non-compliant with Highway Traffic Act (HTA) regulations related to impairment while operating a motor vehicle. Officers issued the male a 7-day driving suspension and seized the vehicle from the scene in accordance with the HTA.
