RNC Suspends Driver in Churchill Falls

(Churchill Falls, NL), November 17, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) has seized a vehicle and issued a driving suspension in Churchill Falls.

On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at approximately 2:15 am, officers with the RNC OPS responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident West of Churchill Falls on the Trans-Labrador Highway. On arrival to the area, officers located a vehicle that had gone off the road, resting in a ditch. The operator was located inside the vehicle and was not injured.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, the 35-year-old male from Labrador City operating the vehicle was issued 7-day driving suspension under the Highway Traffic Act in connection with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was seized and impounded from the scene.
