RNC Make Arrest Following Armed Robbery in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), November 23, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a female following response to an armed robbery in St. John’s.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, at approximately 5:50 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred at a business in the area of the Avalon Mall in St. John’s. A female suspect had presented a weapon as she proceeded to exit the business with merchandise. Responding officers located the female suspect inside a nearby business on Kenmount Road a short time later, placing her under arrest without incident.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 31-year-old female from St. John’s was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of court orders. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
