RNC Make Arrest Related to Impaired Driving in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), January 20, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services made an arrest in connection with impaired driving overnight.

On Thursday, January 20, 2022, at approximately 1:55 am, officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle on Kenmount Road. The officer developed suspicion that the operator was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation of the event, a 47-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with refusal to provide a breath sample, his driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle was seized from the scene. The accused was released to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
