RNC Investigating Pedestrian Involved Collision in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), February 23, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are investigating a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian in St. John’s.

On Monday, February 21, 2022, at approximately 9:00 pm, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Signal Hill Road in St. John’s. It was reported that the operator of the vehicle involved had abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle on Signal Hill Road, observing significant damage. The individual believed to be operating the suspect vehicle was located by officers a short distance from the scene. The male pedestrian was taken to the hospital to seek medical assistance.

The investigation of this event remains active, and officers are requesting any witnesses contact the RNC. Investigators are also requesting any video footage that may be available in the area around the time of the collision.
