RNC Make Arrest in Connection with Intimate Partner Violence

(St. John’s, NL), May 12, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a male after responding to a disturbance in the downtown area of St. John’s overnight.

On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at approximately 12:45 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a residence located in the downtown area of St. John’s in relation to an ongoing disturbance. On arrival, officers located a female at the residence with multiple visible injuries. Responding officers located a male outside the home attempting to flee the area, and were able to take him in to custody without incident.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 28-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with assault, choking and property damage. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
