RNC Make Arrests After Locating Stolen Vehicle in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), July 6, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested two males after locating a stolen vehicle in St. John’s today.

On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, just after 10:00 am officers with RNC OPS and CID located a stolen vehicle in the center city of St. John’s with two occupants. Officers contained the vehicle, effectively placing the two occupants under arrest without incident.

As a result of further investigation following police response, the passenger of the vehicle, a 30-year-old male from St. John’s, faces charges of theft and robbery in connection with multiple events at Newfoundland Liquor Corporation (NLC) locations in St. John’s. He has been held in custody to appear in Provincial Court. The 41-year-old male from St. John’s operating the vehicle is being charged with possession of property obtained by crime and breach of court order. He was released from custody to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
