RNC Actively Investigating Home Invasions in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), September 13, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and Operational Patrol Services (OPS) are actively investigating two home invasions, which occurred Monday evening in St. John’s.

On Monday, September 12, 2022, at approximately 7:50 pm, officers of RNC OPS responded to an emergency call requesting police assistance at a residence on Beaumont Street in St. John’s. On arrival, officers located the residents of the home in distress, and determined a home invasion had just occurred. Officers believe suspects forced their way in to the home after knocking at the entrance. The suspects took the homeowners vehicle, a 2012 grey Honda Civic JPB 113, and fled the area. The male resident of the home sustained serious injuries, and was taken to the Health Science Center to seek medical attention.

A short time later, at approximately 8:15 pm, an emergency was reported at a home on Maunder’s Lane in St. John’s, with the residents requesting police assistance. On arrival, officers located the residents inside the home, quickly determining a home invasion had just occurred. The residents of the home sustained injuries and were taken to the Health Science Center to seek medical attention. Similar to the previous event, suspects forced their way inside the home, proceeding to assault the residents of the home before leaving the property.

The RNC CID and RNC OPS are actively searching for the suspects, examining the crime scenes, and seeking any information or video footage that may assist the investigation. These events are believed to be random, and the RNC is asking the community to report any suspicious activity immediately. The suspects are believed to be carrying a weapon, so if you observe the suspect vehicle, do not approach and contact the RNC immediately. The RNC will provide updates as information related to the events and suspects are validated by investigators.

The RNC ask that anyone with information to assist this investigation contact the RNC at 729-8000 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers: #SayItHere 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com or use the P3Tips app.
