RNC Drug Unit Shut Down a Street-Level Operation

(St. John’s, NL), September 27, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Drug Investigation Unit (DIU) shut down a street-level drug trafficking operation on the Northeast Avalon.

An ongoing investigation into street-level drug trafficking in St. John’s resulted in a seizure of illicit drugs on the evening of Thursday, September 23, 2022. A male and female were arrested at the time but have been released pending further investigation.

Officers have seized 173 ritalin pills, 49 dilaudid pills, 15 grams of cocaine, 7 blots of LSD, a weigh scale, and approximately $24,000.00 in cash.

These criminal networks are focused solely on profit, with total disregard for the safety of those impacted by the activity.
