RNC Investigating Break and Enter in Mount Pearl

(St. John’s, NL), December 5, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Major Crime Unit (MCU) are investigating a break and enter, which occurred in Mount Pearl on Saturday, December 3, 2022 .

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, shortly before 12:00 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) received a request for assistance at a residence on Leger Cres, Mount Pearl. Patrol officers responded to the residence where they located an injured male outside the home. The male victim was taken to hospital for serious injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Throughout the investigation, officers learned that the victim’s residence had been broken into and his vehicle, a white 2018 GMC Sierra was stolen. The male victim was injured by the suspects during the incident.

On December 4, 2022 at 3:45 AM RNC officers located the stolen vehicle in the area of New Pennywell Rd, St. John’s. The investigation is ongoing and at this time the RNC believe multiple suspects were involved. All suspects were wearing dark clothing and masked.

The RNC are seeking any information that may assist the investigation, including observed suspicious activity, dash camera footage or CCTV in the following areas:

Leger Cres, Mount Pearl between the hours of 10:30 pm December 3, 2022 until 12:00 am December 3, 2022.

New Pennywell Road, St. Johns and surrounding roads between the hours of 11:30 pm December 3, 2022 until 3:30 am December 4
