RNC Request Assistance in Connection with Armed Robbery in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), January 25, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are requesting the assistance from the public in relation to an armed robbery in St. John’s, NL.

On January 24, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a business on Water Street, near Ayres Cove, St. John’s following the report of a robbery.

Upon arrival it was determined that a man had entered a business on Water Street and demanded cash, while stating that he had a concealed weapon in his possession. The male fled on foot prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately five feet and five inches tall, with a thin build. He was said to be wearing a grey jacket with his hood up and white N-95 mask. Reports indicated that the suspect may have been wearing a black winter hat under his hood.

The Investigation is ongoing. The RNC GIU ask that anyone with information, CCTV, dash camera or cell phone footage in the area around the time of the incident contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
