RNC Impound Vehicle Following Traffic Stop

(St. John’s, NL), March 22, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) impounded a vehicle following a traffic stop in St. John’s overnight.

On Monday, March 27, at approximately 1:55 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services Division conducted a traffic safety stop on Water Street in St. John’s. A subsequent investigation determined that the driver was operating the vehicle while over the provincial blood alcohol limit.

As a result of the investigation, the 28-year-old male operator was issued a 7-day driving suspension. The vehicle was also impounded form the scene in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, was arrested in connection with an outstanding warrant for arrest.
