RNC Track Down Suspect Following Home Invasion in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), March 27, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) tracked down the suspect of a home invasion, which occurred last night in St. John’s.

On Sunday, March 26, 2023, at approximately 8:15 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Grenfell Avenue in St. John’s. On arrival, officers determined a male suspect had entered the residence with a weapon, and fled on foot once police arrived. The suspect was apprehended a short distance from the incident by responding officers.

RNC OPS conducted an investigation, with the support of RNC Forensic Identification Services.

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old male from St. John’s has been charged with uttering threats, break and enter, assault with a weapon, assault, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, escape lawful custody and breach of court orders. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
