RNC Make Arrest Following Report of Suspicious Person

(St. John’s, NL), March 28, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services Division made an arrest in connection with theft from parked vehicles overnight in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at approximately 2:25 am, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of suspicious activity in a residential area of downtown St. John’s. Responding officers were informed that a suspect had been observed accessing parked vehicles in the area. Patrol officers located a male a short time later who was believed to be accessing parked vehicles for the purpose of stealing items from inside. The male was taken into custody by the officers.

As a result of an investigation into the event, a 32-year-old male from St. John’s was arrested and charged with theft, mischief, trespassing at night and failure to comply with a court order. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
