RNC Traffic Stop Results in Driving Suspension

(St. John’s, NL), April 5, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) issued a driving suspension following a traffic stop overnight.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at approximately 2:20 am, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle on New Gower Street in the downtown area of St. John’s. The patrol officer believed the operator to be impaired by alcohol.

As a result of an investigation into the event, the 22-year-old male operator of the vehicle was issued a driving suspension for operating a vehicle while over the provincial alcohol limit. The vehicle was also impounded from the scene.
