RNC Track Down Impaired Driver in Paradise

(St. John’s, NL), April 10, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest in connection with impaired driving following a report to the police overnight.

On Monday, April 10, 2023, at approximately 1:15 am, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of a potential impaired driver in the McNamara Drive area of Paradise. Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later in Paradise, safely conducting a traffic stop.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, the 58-year-old female operator of the vehicle was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating vehicle while impaired by alcohol over 80 mg. The accused was issued a driving suspension and her vehicle was impounded from the scene. She was released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
