RNC Make Arrest Following Disturbance in Capital

(St. John’s, NL), June 21, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest overnight after locating a disturbance in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:55 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) located two males in an altercation in the middle of road on Torbay Road in the east end of St. John’s. The officers determined an allegation was made that one male had assaulted the partner of the other. The officers launched an investigation into the assault complaint.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a 33-year-old male from St. John’s was placed under arrest and has been charged with public mischief and failure to comply with court orders. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with the charges.
