RNC Investigating Shooting Incident in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), June 28, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating after a shooting incident in St. John’s on Sunday.

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, just before 8:00 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s after a male had arrived with a gunshot wound. On arrival to the hospital, responding officers identified the 47-year-old male from St. John’s, who was receiving medical attention for the serious injury resulting from the gunshot.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating this event and believe it to be a targeted attack. Investigators are seeking any information or video footage from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 25, in the area of Carter’s Hill, Livingstone Street, Tessier place and Cookstown Road in St. John’s.
