(St. John’s, NL), August 24, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest overnight in connection with impaired driving in Maddox Cove.

RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of an impaired driver in the area of Maddox Cove on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at approximately 9:10 pm. On arrival, officers identified the operator of the vehicle, subsequently engaging in an investigation related to impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a 74-year-old male of Petty Harbour – Maddox Cove was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration in excess of 80 mg. The accused was released from custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with the charge on a later date. The vehicle was impounded from the scene.
